Ephemeral means - “short lived”. So, by definition Ephemeral ports are short lived ports. These are used in IP communications within transport protocol.
These are also called Dynamic Ports.
Range of these port numbers is above the “well-known” IP ports i.e. above 1024.
Suggested range is - 49152 to 65535 but windows and linux platforms have their own suggested ranges.
